18 Different types of video game genres [with Examples]

The classification of games is not always consistent. It develops and changes over time and can be somewhat arbitrary. The video game is classified in terms of perspective, gameplay, interaction, objective, number of players, etc. This common style of games or a set of characteristics is called genres of video games.
